We kicked off our morning with Poetry, revisiting our 5 senses charts that we created yesterday. Using our 5 senses charts and one thing from our "10 Things I Know to be True" lists, we created our first poem which is due tomorrow.
In PE we kicked things off a little differently with an altered deck of cards. Ask your student what kind of things they did as a PE warm up. During PE we had our second Badminton lesson and worked on serving. After recess the 7's resumed their CAT testing while the 6's finished their measurement. We discussed how many steps it would take to walk 1km and to walk all the way to Vancouver (approximately 780km). Ask your student to show you how they would figure it out.
Extreme Environments took over the classroom this afternoon. In groups students have been asked to make a quick poster of notes on specific extreme environments. At the end of the day each of the students wrote me a post-it note about what they learned. Did you know it takes approximately 8 minutes for the light from the sun to reach the earth!?
Mrs. G. was away today. She will be back tomorrow.
